Place yer Bets!!!!

I've been a complete fail at blogging lately. Real life. Spring fever. Ya know...S-T-U-F-F.
I'm not one to normally report on what I do when I'm not blogging or how I spend my weekends. I guess because they are usually so exciting that I just don't want to rub it in. I mean do you think you can handle me chatting about what a good deal I got at the grocery story on turkey burgers or how trips to the park always end in me 'watching' someone else's kid while they are on their phone and not paying any attention. Then there is the constant characters and singing I perform. Sometimes my life is like the The Gleeful Sound of Music in the Mickey Mouse Club and I'm just trying to sneak in Twilight and Rob wherever I can.

So here's something a little different I did last weekend that I thought I would share because only you guys would truly appreciate how I chose to participate in this special event. In honor of the Preakness (that's the second big horse race in the Triple Crown), I went to the horse races!! Good salt of the earth people there and plenty of weirdos! It's a big business with a lot of people involved: owners, jockies, trainers, EMT personnel, some guy selling photocopies of 'his' picks (WTF I could do that) who gives you attitude when you tell him you aren't interested....but the horses are beautiful, and I love seeing them up close.

And I did go see the horses in the winner circle up close, but make no mistake about it, for most of the time, I'm up in the restaurant drinking my mint julip watching through glass windows.

I used to have a very scientific way of losing at the horse track, but now I have new inspiration in my life. Try to follow me here.

Here were my picks:

Race # 1
Victorious Leader (as in Victoria, btw the horse got hurt)

aside:  if you read the word 'Victorious' and you
start humming a song like I did [refer to my life above], it might be
this one. Wrong word,
but it's always a good time for
Duran Duran.

Race # 2
August Osage
(Are you cringing just a bit at the thought of August and horses?)

Race # 3
 Digger  (as in Diggory)
Mr. Dr. Professor (Masen / Emerson)

Race # 4
  Cooper River
(Shout out to PFach!)

Race # 5
  Mind Boggling
(how our favorite vamp can read minds)

Race # 6
  Seattle Mission
(We've been tracking the situation for a while now)

Race # 7
 Vision of Magic
(Alice should have seen that this horse would scratch)
Cold Shot
(Edward gives one from the sparkly peen and boom, Renesme)

Race # 8
  Moon ala Mode
(As in New Moon with Edward and ice cream on top)

Race # 9
 not applicable

Race # 10
 Mr. No SpeedLimit
(I drive like a Culllen)

So a few of my picks placed but I didn't win any big time money. I think from now on when it comes to associating Rob and jockies, I'm just going to stick be thinking along these lines.

Can't tell exactly what brand he is wearing, huh? Well, I'm betting on these. And I'm hoping during Cosmopolis I'll be saying, "And they're off!!!"

Speaking of horses, our next TwiPeople cover is coming up very shortly and there will be a horse tie-in, but otherwise, I'm not giving any more away!!!

Here's hoping you'll come back and see for yourself!

Feel free to leave a 'bet' in the comments on who you think the cover Ward will be!
