On this day, I choose to believe...

I know most of us wrestled a bit with the idea of the movie Remember Me.

I understand.

Was the writer trying to "Sixth Sense" us with the ending?

Was the writer trying to "Titanic" us with the love story based around a historical tragedy?

Both of those movies experienced an incredible amount of popularity. Perhaps the author was hopeful of achieving the same amount of popularity by tapping into their formulas.

Let's face it, striving to achieve popularity exists way beyond high school. But I've listened to Rob being interviewed regarding this movie, and I don't see where he has ever chose it strategically for ratings. I can't see where he has chosen any role based on the potential of a film's popularity, competition, or rooted out of some thought like what a blockbuster and moneymaker this is going be.

I choose to believe Rob picked this role in an effort to pay tribute to the lives of the victims of 9-11, not to diminish their sacrifice.

I choose to believe this movie is meant to remind us that each person who died that day had their own story to tell--a life not to be defined just by how they died.

I choose to believe that when I watch this film it is a silent celebration of the lives of those people who very innocently died that day --their only crime that day was going to work, being on a plane, or trying to rescue their fellow Americans.

I choose to remember a lot of the good I saw after that day with people helping others, companies helping individuals, prayer vigils held, prayer chains circulated, special church services held.

I choose to always be sure to say a few extra kind words to the young adults I know who lost their fathers that day when I see them. I recognize the sadness in their eyes they carry around with them.

I choose to believe that someday all of the people behind the attacks of 9-11 will be found and punished for their jealousy and hatred of us and our way of living.

I choose to believe Remember Me is a reminder to celebrate life.

I choose to encourage you to draw some inspiration from Remember Me in order to celebrate your own life story, give homage to the life stories of those that died that day, and to simply remember that day in your own private way.

I chose to make a video. Hope you enjoy the message.

That's all there is. I hope it is enough.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the clips or music.
I'm still working out the hiccups when it comes to
making a video.
